Katlyn Nichol

Katlyn Nichol is still in her teens, but her talent and presence reflect a lifetime of performing. Standing on the shoulders of greats like Mary J. Blige, Beyonce, Whitney Houston and Janet Jackson, yet with a sound uniquely her own, Katlyn Nichol is poised to take her place in pop music history. Katlyn was born in Fayetteville, North Carolina, the youngest of five sisters. Deeply rooted in her musical family's gospel roots, her talent has been carefully developed since she was two. She started singing in the Jesus Peace Ministries choir at age eight, where her unique bluesy and passionate vocal style flourished. She continues to inspire today as a lead vocalist at Newark's Deliverance Evangelist Center, where her grandfather was pastor. At 12, she was signed to eight-time Grammy winner Mary J. Blige's Matriarch/Island Def Jam label, and appeared with Mary in many venues, including an Atlanta performance that was broadcast on CentricTV. Her many performances include Radio City Music Hall, the Essence Music Festival and the Scream Tour with Diggy Simmons, Jacob Latimore and OMG Girlz. Katlyn also appeared in a national commercial for Burger King. More recently, Katlyn is a featured artist on FOX's new show "Shots Fired". She also just released her music video for Rejection, paving the way for 2017 to be a big year. Combined with her lyrical, yet soulful sound, Katlyn's strong interpretative ability offers a fresh perspective that's been missing from pop music. By showcasing her life-long love of moving people through her voice, she delivers a knockout in every performance. Lately, Katlyn has been supplementing her vocal studies with acting and dancing classes at Cicely Tyson School of Performing and Fine Arts. Her focus is two-fold: to make her mark in the music business while continuing her education. Katlyn possesses a presence, grace and poise beyond her years, while remaining 100% teenager.
